We got back to the flat late last night. Today is a holiday and all the stores are closed, so Emily and I needed to get some grocery shopping done. We got snacky-foods, juice, fruit, bread, some more bread, lunch meat, stuff to get by on, but most importantly Nutella. I’m pretty sure they sell Nutella in the U.S., but I’m not too familiar with it. All I know is that it’s spreadable chocolate. And it’s delicious. And it’s especially delicious when you haven’t eaten for nine hours.
We have the day off. There are two holidays going on today. The first is the Ascension of Christ (Christi Himmelfahrt).The second is MAN DAY (Maennertag). As someone described it to me, Man Day is when Men walk around, drinking beer with their shirts off to celebrate the fact that they’re men. I find it interesting that those two holidays fall together.
Fact: Germany and the United States go together like rama, lama, lama, kadingy, kading-a-dong.
Proof 1: Nutella + Peanut Butter = the epitome of yumminess
Proof 2: Man Day and No-shave November = the ultimate celebration of manliness
